As you all know Wednesday's are all about engagements here at Bodas del Encanto. Today's proposal is as adorable as any! Delvin and Maria met in college, he spotted her at school and managed to introduce himself through Facebook. After five years it was time to pop the question and he decided to surprise her during his own birthday celebration, hoping she would give him the gift of a lifetime, to agree to become his wife!

From the Bride-to-Be: Delvin's birthday is on October 16th. He wanted to celebrate his birthday with all his family, my family and our friends. It was strange to me that he wanted to celebrate his birthday, because he does not like being the center of attention, but he explained by saying: "It's been a hard year and I want to see everyone I love on my birthday." With that being I thought it made sense because he loves to share special moments with his loved ones. We decided to do it at my parents' house. Delvin asked me to take care of planning (he knows I love to plan things) and he would take care of the food and drinks. On the day of the birthday everything went super smoothly. My parents even rented a DJ! I was told that was part of Delvin's gift. When we were going to sing happy birthday everyone went inside the house. At that moment a friend calls me and tells me that she does not know how to get to my house. I go outside to talk to her and to explain how to get there. When my friend arrived, we entered quickly. Everyone who was inside had their camera / cell phones out and I thought that was strange, but we started singing happy birthday immediately so I didn't think anything of it. At the end, as it's tradition, people usually ask for a wish when they are going to blow the candles. Delvin took his time thinking about his wish and people started shouting Make a wish! Make a wish! Suddenly Delvin raised his head looks at me and says "Maria my only desire is to marry you!" I suddenly realize that my best friend has a big sign that says the same exact words. I was shocked, I cried, I was excited, I could not believe it. There were about 75 of our closest family and friends with us that day, and every single one of them where screaming for joy, others crying and applauding. It was a moment of many emotions that are inexplicable. Delvin walked over to me, knelt and obviously I said yes.
