Real Weddings: Sheila Maritza Rodríguez and Francisco Antonio Namerow
Hello my darlings!
I know its been a while, but today we have a fab wedding to share with you. I am in love with today's bride. As a plus size girl I like seeing other confident and powerful powerful women and as you can see in these photos Sheila is just that!
Sheila and Francisco met back in 2009 in a chance encounter in Old San Juan. Fast forward to 5yrs later when in 2014, in front of her entire family he got down on one knee and proposed. Then the fun part started, planning for their epic wedding. As soon as they visited The Antiguo Casino they knew that was the perfect location for their big day.
From the Bride...We wanted a classic, timeless, and elegant ambiance. The Antiguo Casino is so spectacular and regal that we immediately knew what we wanted. The color palette was different shades of light pink, gold, and touches of beige.
I knew that AKUA was the right decorator for us since I follow their work and knew what they were capable of achieving. I remember when we first met with Javier and took him all our ideas, pictures, swatches, etc. He knew exactly what we wanted and boy did they deliver. We had square and round tables, two different kinds of tablecloths, one which was first used in our wedding, three different types of flower arrangements in varying heights and vases, floating candles, mirrors, and beautiful flowers. There was pink under lighting all over the salon which made it all come together beautifully. The chandeliers and stained glass on the doors made everything even more stunning. It really looked like out of a fairytale or movie. Frank and I are both animal lovers, especially dogs. So to give the decoration that special touch, we had dog table number holders… they were so cute!
The food was delicious, the Hors d'oeuvres were amazing, especially the Petit Beef Wellington with Wild Mushrooms Duxelle and the Grilled Vegetable & Manchego Cheese on Crouton. To keep it traditional we had Plantain soup with arañitas, and three different main courses, a fully stocked bar, and a magnificent cake by C&M Cakes.
Since it was 4th of July, exactly a year after we got engaged, when the batucada arrived, we had red, white, and blue props for everyone, it was very fun. We are 14 cousins in my generation, and since everyone came for the wedding, we were able to take a family picture with all of us in it. That was priceless and I’m so thankful that they all came. My parents really made my dream wedding a reality, especially my mom, who went with me to all the appointments, stores, vendors. She was the best Mother of the Bride I’ve ever seen.
