Real Wedding: Melissa Marty and Nelson Rosa Part I
Happy Monday Lovies!
We are super excited for our wedding feature today! Last year we featured beauty queen Melissa Marty's engagement to Nelson Rosa and today we have their dream wedding to share. There are so many amazing photos to choose from that we decided to divide the post into two features. First off the wedding ceremony, which took place in the recently renovated Plaza de las Artes in Caguas, the brides hometown. The bride wore a stunning Lazaro gown and Eva Guadalupe accessories, while the groom looked beyond handsome in his Hugo Boss tux. We had the pleasure of sitting down with the bride to get the inside scoop on her big day.
Melissa explains she started planning her wedding a year ago, although she did reach out to her wedding planner Yaska Crespo even before she was engaged, so its been about a year and a half. But like every girl, she has been dreaming of her big day since she was a little girl. Choosing her coordinator was one of the most important tasks during the planning process. She says "The coordinator becomes the middle person, to help you achieve everything you have dreamed for your big day. She becomes your accomplice, your shoulder to cry on when your family wants one thing, yet you want another. She will always have your back and your best interest at heart. A lot of people think the wedding planner is there to do everything, but I never saw it that way. I am a producer, and I wanted to be the producer of my big day, but my coordinator helped facilitate those additional vendors that had the means to carry out my vision and above all made sure that everything ran smoothly on my wedding day. That day neither I nor my family had to worry about anything, because the coordinator was in charge of every last detail."
Melissa was very involved in every aspect of the wedding planning, even making some of the wedding details herself. She is very detail oriented and by her own accord a perfectionist, she wanted to make sure she knew about everything and that she was a part of the entire process. Living in LA and planning a wedding in PR was no easy fete, but she wanted to ensure her big day represented her and the love she and Nelson share. But no matter how involved she was her parents still managed to give her one of the best surprises from her big day, "My parents surprised us with fireworks at the very moment in which we were declared husband and wife! It was incredible! You can tell in the pictures how shocked we were, it made that already special moment, so much more"
After so much planning a girls wedding day is one of the most memorable days in her life, but it can also be one of the most nerve-wracking, but not for Melissa, who kept her calm at all times "To my surprise I was not nervous at all! I am a very emotional person and swore I would be crying the entire wedding, but it was not. The priority for me that day was to be in the moment and enjoy myself without worrying about anything but my future husband and me. I worked hard for that moment and I went through a lot to get to that day, my relationship with my now husband also went through a lot to get to the big day, so the most important thing for me was enjoying the moment. I was very calm, I knew I was marrying the right person at the right time and that everything happens as it should. I asked my angels to look after me and give me peace and they did."
