Real Wedding: Melissa Marty and Nelson Rosa Part II
If you thought the ceremony was a dream wait until you see the reception. Melissa and Nelson's fairytale wedding continued at the Asociación de Miembros de la Policia de Puerto Rico, where friends and family came together for an evening of fun, dancing and more surprises.
Melissa's wildest dreams could not prepare her for what she was about to see when she walked into her reception room, "When I first met with my decorator Gadiel I explained to him that I had literally gotten engaged inside a cloud, so I found it necessary that I would dance on a star filled sky. Little did I know he would take that vision above and beyond anything I ever dreamed of. The chandelier in the middle of the room represented the moon, and the black and light up dance floor represented that starry sky. When I walked into the room I was in shock, what was in front of me was even better than my Pinterest board wedding!". All the personal details that Melissa is known for continued through out the evening, from the personalized escort cards (you had to find your picture on the grid, which had your table number in the back), to the engagement photos on the cake.
After a night full of emotional speeches from the bridal party and parents of the bride and groom, the bride had a little surprise for her new husband, "I planned a surprise for my husband, I sang an acoustic version of "Corazon Multicolor" by Luis Fonsi at our reception. I rehearsed with the band beforehand and when the time came it was only the guitarist and I, and truth be told my nerves betrayed me a little bit but eventually I fell in tone" Melissa says laughing. "At one point I even forgot the lyrics, but the moment was magical anyway! I am a very difficult person to surprise because I am always aware of everything, but I surprised myself and my husband."
Melissa can truly say she had the wedding of her dreams and she wouldn't change it for the world, "I have no words to describe how happy my husband and I were with our wedding. I was in a dream that day, a dream that became reality. It was incredible. My husband told me during the reception he knew it would be something great but never imagined it would be that amazing, he was in shock and even the days after the wedding he would be reminiscing and saying how spectacular everything was. Honestly as I said before, my real wedding far surpassed my Pinterest wedding! It was much more than I could have ever imagined. It was perfect"
