Real Weddings: Lizbeth Marie Colón Plaza and Dr. Angel E. Benítez Berrios

Photography by: Orlando Negron It's Friday!!! Hope you are all gearing up for a great weekend, but before anyone goes anywhere, we have a very very special wedding to share with you.

Lizbeth has been my sisters best friend since I can remember (that's her in blue dress!). They met in nursery school and have been in each others lives ever since, to say that Liz is like a sister is an understatement.

Liz and Angel met through Angel's sister Carla. Carla went to the same high school as us, and she met Liz on a trip abroad. When Carla got back and was showing the pictures from the trip to Angel, he immediately became interested in Liz and asked for her info. The funny thing is that Liz had seen photos of him and thought he was a total hunk but never imagined her would be interested. Thank God Angel was persistent, because it took him five years to convince Lizbeth to go out on a date and they have been together ever since.

After a few years of a long distance relationship, she was finishing school in PA and he was doing his residency in PR, Angel asked Liz's mom for her hand in marriage. He proposed on Christmas Eve in front of friends and family.

I have been to my fair share of weddings, but I have to say this was hands down one of the best ones I have ever been too. From the venue, to the music, to the food, everything was pure perfection. And let's not forget the bride's stunning dress!

From the Bride... When it came to planning the specific detail of the wedding look, I was sure of one thing, I wanted lace all over me! I wanted the general feeling to be organic, romantic, and effortless but elegant and well thought out without being too indie. I was very specific in that I did not want any “bling”. But the rest just fell into place as we went along. This was the best party I’ve ever been to. Everybody that was there was a family member to us and having every single person that means the world to us under one roof having the time of our lives was just priceless.
