A few months ago we shared with you guys the love story of today's darling couple Amaris and Juan. We have known the couple for a few years so we were super excited when they let us share their story. Today we can finally show you their stunning wedding.
Planning a wedding in Puerto Rico while you live in Boston and your fiancee lives in NYC can be a little tricky, but these two pulled it off without a hitch! From the beginning they both knew they wanted an elegant soiree with tropical touches, but above all they wanted it to be FUN! When it came to the over all design of the day the bride chose Coral Red as her main color with neutral shades as accents, while crystal and pearls were also very important details. To incorporate the fun there was no shortage of music, from a steel pan band at cocktail hour, mariachi band during the reception and even a choreographed salsa dance by the couple themselves. Needless to stay this party went on all night long!
From The Groom...I realized I wanted to propose to “Chiquita” my last semester of college (Spring 2009). Back then we were not together and I was reading a lot about relationships and understanding women’s feelings (Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and 5 Love Languages…highly recommend for anybody that is on a relationship to read both of them and use them as guides). During that time I learned a lot about myself and also about her and I was able to put in perspective a lot of things that I did not understand when she was talking to me. At that time, we were not ready to get married financially, and because she was starting Grad school and I was starting my professional career. But I continued to work on a lot of things I had to modify if I wanted to get back with her. In the end, spending that time alone and doing a lot of introspection helped me mature as a man and helped the relationship get stronger, which led to us getting married and have a very solid relationship.
When I saw her for the first time walking down the aisle in the church the day of our wedding, it was priceless to see her wearing the most beautiful dress a bride can have and the most beautiful smile. I will treasure this moment in my heart and my mind forever. Every time I think about it I get the chills and it reminds me of how lucky of a guy I am to have her on my side.
From the Bride... After the priest declared us husband and wife the ceremony musicians (Madera Fina) surprised us with a song (Fantasía Sideral by Ismael Rivera), which we almost chose for our first dance. They hadn’t heard the song before we mentioned it to them, and it didn’t occur to us that we could have it as part of the ceremony. So it was very exciting and emotional for both of us to hear the song at that very special moment (very well captured in the pictures). That moment felt like we were alone in the church.
These two are one of the cutest couples I have ever met! Every time you see them together you can tell they fall more and more in love every day!
